Coach Bolts
Also known as carriage bolts or cup square bolts, these fixings come in various sizes, lengths and finishes. Choose from zinc-plated, galvanised and stainless steel for increased durability.
The size of the bolt is referred to by its M designation. For example, an M14 coach bolt and nut is 14mm wide. Ideal for fixing timber and wood, coach bolts are heavy-duty and versatile.

What is a coach bolt?
Coach bolts are used for fastening metal to wood, or for joining different types of timber. Also known as carriage bolts, they provide a heavy-duty fastening anywhere from the smallest of DIY projects to the largest industrial assemblies.
How do coach bolts work?
Coach bolts have an enlarged head which helps to prevent loosening, and also stops it from being pulled through the timber. They are secured in place with a matching nut or other threaded insert.
How to fit a coach bolt?
You can fit a coach bolt even with limited access to both sides of the bolt. The head of a coach bolt bites into the timber to prevent it from turning, which means it’s easier to fasten from the nut side.
